Emily is a Director of Atlas Asia Law Corporation (AALC) and heads the Investment Funds and Financial Regulatory practice at AALC.
She has more than 20 years of experience in the areas of private equity, private investment funds, corporate and financial regulatory work. Emily advises clients on the structuring and establishment of private funds as well as financial regulatory compliance requirements, license applications under the Securities and Futures Act and the Financial Advisers Act, as well as product offering requirements in Singapore. She also acts for investors and limited partners and has negotiated for sovereign wealth funds, pension funds and large private equity funds on their investments as limited partners and/or co-investors.
Prior to joining AALC, Emily was the General Counsel of Liquid Group, a Singapore-based fintech payments that specialises in cross-border QR payments. Before that, she led the investment funds team of international law firm, White & Case LLP in Singapore. Emily previously worked in UBS Wealth Management in Singapore, advising the bank’s key clients on family office set-ups, private funds and global custody matters. She also assisted with the setting up of the bank’s funds competency centre in Asia.
Before UBS, Emily led the funds practice of Allen & Gledhill LLP and was actively involved in both the retail funds and private funds markets in Singapore.
